on october 1, 1997, the swiss national bank introduced for the very first time a CHF 200 bill. they claim, this is the first bill world wide with tiny little holes in it. they serve as a security feature and appear as the number "200" which can be seen easily if one holds the bill against a light source. another security feature is the micro imprint near the center of the front of the bill (see enlargment below).
