Zürich City is located at the end of lake Zürich ("Zürichsee") on both sides of the river "Limmat" (therefore the name "Limmatstadt").

Since January 28, 2009: Home of Europe's best ice hockey team, the ZSC Lions - winner of the Champions Hockey League 2008-2009 and the Victoria Cup 2009.
